Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate degree in health information management or health care administration or equivalent.
• 5–8 years of experience in an acute care teaching hospital health information management department.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
• Strong analytic and critical thinking skills for data correction and problem solving.
• Excellent prioritization and organizational skills to meet deadlines.
• Advanced skills in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Ensure medical record accuracy and timely corrections within the health system.
• Partner with interdisciplinary teams to resolve clinical and financial discrepancies.
• Act as liaison for providers to resolve issues with incomplete records or open encounters.
• Maintain the master and enterprise patient index and resolve duplicates.
• Perform quality reviews and audits related to medical record timeliness and accuracy.
