Guidehouse is seeking a senior healthcare coder to lead complex documentation and coding activities in a dynamic environment. You will analyze patient records, discuss code assignments, and guide ERR-related education, compliance, and process improvements.

The role requires established RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CPC credentials, a strong outpatient coding background, and at least two years of people leadership experience. Competitive benefits and career development opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• University degree required; 5+ years of relevant experience; substitutions allowed.
• Must hold RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or CPC certification.
• Senior-level outpatient coding experience including outpatient/inpatient charts, E/M charging, infusion charging, data management, coder audit and education experience.
• Credential maintenance required throughout employment.
• Minimum of two years of people leadership experience.

What You Will Do

• Assists coders, compliant documentation management staff, and the Internal Revenue Integrity team with complex patient care cases by analyzing documentation and discussing correct code assignment.
• Reviews medical records flagged through the SMART (Inpatient and Outpatient tools) software for patterns of coding errors and opportunities for coder and /or clinical education.
• Serves as a technical expert/resource for department manager, staff, physicians, administrative, and external customers to provide information or clarification accurate and ethical coding and documentation standards, guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.

What You Will Need

• Requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience; (Relevant experience may be substituted for formal education or advanced degree).
• Currently certified as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or Certified Professional Coder (CPC).
• A strong outpatient coding background at a senior level including coding of outpatient/inpatient charts, E/M charging, injection and infusions charging, as well as data management and coder audit and education experience.
• Must maintain credential throughout employment.
• A minimum of two years of people leadership experience is required

The annual salary range for this position is $68,000.00-$113,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.

• Knowledge of Anatomy, Physiology and Medical Terminology
