Job summary

Guidehouse seeks an experienced HIM Inpatient Coder to perform quality hospital coding on inpatient accounts across Medicare and non‑Medicare cases, including surgical, medical, cardiac, obstetric, and trauma charts. Candidates should have RHIA/RHIT/CCS credentials and 5+ years of inpatient facility coding experience.

The role is remote in the United States with a strong emphasis on timely documentation, adherence to guidelines, and maintaining a high accuracy rate while meeting productivity

Responsibilities

29546 HIM Inpatient Coder- Hospital page is loaded## 29546 HIM Inpatient Coder- Hospitallocations: US - Remote (Any location)time type: Full timeposted on: Posted Yesterdayjob requisition id: 45101**Job Family:**General Coding**Travel Required:**None**Clearance Required:**NoneWhat You Will Do:* Demonstrates the ability to perform quality hospital coding on Inpatient accounts including Medicare/Non Medicare, Surgical, Medical, Cardiac, moms/babies, and trauma cases* Maintains a working knowledge of ICD-10 PCS, governmental regulations, official coding guidelines, and third-party requirements regarding documentation and billing* Assures that all services documented in the patient's chart are coded with appropriate ICD-10/PCS codes* When services/diagnoses are not documented appropriately, seeks to attain proper documentation in a timely manner according to facility standards* Achieves and maintains 96% accuracy in coding while maintaining a high level of productivity* Ability to maintain average productivity standards as follows: 1 IP charts per hour final coded (these productivity standards are Guidehouse general expectations and are subject to change based upon Guidehouse client agreements and/or other factors as determined by management. Notification of expected productivity will be conveyed by Management prior to assignment of a client project)* Responsible for following facility specific policies and procedures* Works pending queues daily* Follows facility query policy and CDI reconciliation process* Charts that require re-bills are corrected and communicated to the facility daily for the re-bill process. See re-bill policy in facility guidelines* Coder downtime must be reported immediately to the administrative staff to ensure turnaround is met* Provides accurate answers to physician's/hospitals coding and/or billing questions within eight hours of requestWhat You Will Need:* High School Diploma or equivalent* Must be hold one of the following credentials: RHIA, RHIT, CCS* 5+ years of Inpatient Facility coding experienceWhat Would Be Nice To Have:* Rehab Inpatient Facility coding experience with admissions (IRF/PAI) & discharges is a plus* Knowledge of Anatomy, Physiology and Medical Terminology* Associates Degree#LI-DNIThe annual salary range for this position is $59,000.00-$98,000.00.
