Job summary

OhioHealth is seeking an HIM Supervisor to coordinate the daily functions of the Health Information Management Department across multiple care sites, with oversight of on-site and remote staff. The role ensures chart completion, release of information, and QA of medical records within state and federal guidelines.

The supervisor partners with HIM leadership to drive standard work, process improvements, and effective staffing.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree required; RHIA or RHIT preferred.
• RHIA - Registered Health Information Administrator and RHIT - Registered Health Information Technician credentials.
• Bachelor’s Degree may be preferred for leadership roles.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily HIM department functions across multiple care sites.
• Supervises workflows, chart completion, release of information, and QA of medical records.
• Interviews, hires, trains, and evaluates staff; manages performance and disciplinary actions.
• Ensures compliance with HIPAA, state/federal guidelines, and accreditation standards.
• Collaborates with Risk management and HIM leadership to improve processes and efficiency.
• Coordinates staffing coverage for onsite and remote teams; schedules and workload management.
• Maintains standard work procedures and drives process improvements.
