Job summary

Cook Children’s Medical Center seeks an HIM Documentation Integrity Analyst I in the HIM-Quality department to evaluate discharge records for completeness and compliance with regulatory standards.

You will report deficiencies and collaborate with HIM Records Management, Transcription, and Quality staff to address missing or incorrect documentation. A strong knowledge of HIM concepts and MS Office is required.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Health Information Management or a high school diploma with 2 years hospital office experience.
• Broad knowledge of medical terminology, record management concepts, data integrity and HIM applications.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
• Detail-oriented, analytical with strong organizational and writing/interpersonal communication skills; maintains confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and solve problems using current policies.
• RHIT preferred.
• Epic EMR experience preferred.
• Experience with analysis preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate discharge records for inclusion, accuracy, and completeness.
• Assign chart deficiencies based on CCMC rules and regulations.
• Communicate missing/incorrect documentation to HIM staff.
