Job summary

GreenRock Capital LLC is seeking a Director of Health Information Management in Sun Valley, CA. This senior role leads the HIM department, overseeing medical records, transcription, privacy, and regulatory compliance to support high-quality patient care.

The position requires RHIT/RHIA certification, a preferred Bachelor’s degree, and at least 3 years of HIM experience in an acute healthcare setting, with strong EMR knowledge and ICD coding familiarity.

Qualifications

• RHIT or RHIA Certification required or preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Three (3) years Health Information Management experience in an acute healthcare facility.
• Working knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and ICD coding (preferably ICD-10).

Responsibilities

• Oversee clinical documentation, abstracting, transcription, ROI, record analysis, completion, retention, storage & destruction, document imaging, data quality monitoring, privacy, compliance, and accreditation readiness.
• Develop strategy, goals, budgets, and performance standards for HIM operations.
• Collaborate with IT to ensure EMR accessibility and compliance with organizational policies.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance as the Hospital’s HIPAA Compliance Officer.
• Manage HIM department staff and workflows including release of information and hardcopy retrieval.
• Ensure compliance with Accrediting Agencies and state/federal regulations.
