Job summary

Main Line Health seeks a HIM Data Management Technician to support the daily operations of Electronic Health Information Management Systems. You will generate reports for reconciliation and auditing, merge/split patient records, and correct charts while training authorized users and providing EMR support.

Qualified candidates have 2+ years in healthcare settings, EPIC or similar EHR experience, and strong Excel/SQL skills.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a hospital, healthcare, or medical office setting required.
• Scanning or ROI experience strongly preferred.
• Experience working in EPIC or other electronic health record management software preferred.
• Basic to intermediate Microsoft Excel proficiency required.
• Working knowledge of personal computers, keyboarding, interfaces, SQL, HL7.
• In depth knowledge of medical record content, documentation requirements and state and federal regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Generate reports to perform reconciliation and auditing activities.
• Perform complex merging, unmerging, and/or separating overlay of intermingled and/or duplicate patient records and chart correction.
• Handle data integrity event forms and related processes.

Our HIM Data Management Technicians play an integral role in supporting the daily operations of our Electronic Health Information Management Systems. You would generate reports to perform reconciliation and auditing activities, perform complex merging, unmerging, and/or separating overlay of intermingled and/or duplicate patient records as well as chart correction and data integrity event forms. Additionally, as an EMR Superuser, you would train authorized users and provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to physicians and other departments in the hospital.

• Associates Degree in HIM or Health Information Technology and/or Analytics or its equivalent progress toward a baccalaureate degree required.
• Approved Medical Terminology required.

Licensures/Certifications

• Certification from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) strongly preferred.
• AHIMA certification in Healthcare Privacy (CHP), Healthcare Security (CHS), or Healthcare Privacy and Security (CHPS) or other credential from areas of Health Analytics, Health Data Integrity and Business Intelligence strongly preferred.
