Job summary

Advocate Health in Milwaukee is seeking a Laboratory Information Management specialist to support patient care by efficiently entering and verifying laboratory data in the EHR and related systems. You will handle documentation, coding of tests, and ensure regulatory compliance under HIPAA and CLIA.

The role requires attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to work with Epic, OnBase and other health IT tools in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Qualifications

• Proficient computer and keyboarding skills and ability to learn new software systems.
• Familiarity with Epic, ExtractLabDE, Solarity, OnBase and Microsoft 365 desired.
• Ability to maintain HIPAA-compliant workflow and document handling.

Responsibilities

• Navi gates EHRs and scans internal/external documentation into the EHR per HIM procedures.
• Analyze non-interfaced lab reports to ensure patient identifiers and CAP/CLIA compliance.
• Identify and release laboratory tests, enter templates, and validate data and units.
• Paginate/classify documentation to correct document type and ensure PHI security.
• Perform QA of scanned docs and verify accuracy against paper records.
