Job summary

Universal Health Services, via Southwest Healthcare, is seeking a Health Information Management Coding and System Specialist. You will support inpatient and outpatient bill-holds and assist the Coding team in meeting daily, weekly and monthly performance goals.

The role requires reviewing records, researching missing documentation, coordinating with physicians, and maintaining data integrity while adhering to OSHPD and state/federal guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent is required.
• Associate’s degree in Medical Records preferred.
• Completion of an introductory Medical Terminology course is required.
• Two to three years of Medical Records experience is required, acute care preferred.
• Prior knowledge of State and Federal release of information laws is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily inpatient and outpatient bill-holds to meet Coding Team productivity standards.
• Review unbilled accounts and follow up for missing documentation and coding queries.
• Collaborate with the Physician Liaison to ensure incomplete records are addressed.
• Monitor coding support work lists and ensure timely processing of records.
• Ensure data integrity: handle duplicate encounters, move charges correctly, and review corporate reports.
