Job summary

University Health System is seeking a HIM Manager based in San Antonio, TX to supervise outpatient and inpatient coding staff, educators, and denials clerks. You will ensure compliance with ICD-10-CM, PCS, CPT, DRG, APC, and ASC coding rules and help develop procedures under the HIM Executive Director.

You will lead policy implementation, process improvements, and budgeting support while upholding guest relations standards. Strong communication and Joint Commission knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in HIM or related field preferred.
• 2–5 years of experience supervising health information management processes.
• Expert knowledge of Joint Commission standards and licensure regulations; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervises the coding staff including Outpatient and Inpatient Coders, Coding Educators, and denials clerks.
• Ensures compliance with federal and state laws and accreditation requirements.
• Develops policies, improves work processes, and supports budgeting efforts.
