Job summary

The Health Information Management Coding Educator II position at Direct Jobs supports the coding education program for hospital coders in Texas. Working with the HIM Coding Education Manager, you create and maintain assessments, onboarding materials, job aids, and SharePoint resources to streamline training and knowledge transfer.

You will train teams on 3M/360 CAC, EMR, and documentation systems, stay current with coding guidelines and regulatory expectations, and help ensure compliant coding

Qualifications

• Experience training professional coding staff and preparing instructional materials.
• Extensive knowledge of health information management systems and documentation practices.
• Familiarity with ICD-9-CM, ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT coding guidelines and payer regulations.

Responsibilities

• Onboard, train, and orient new hires to coding systems and workflows.
• Develop coding education programs, roundtables, and updates.
• Assess course effectiveness and track attendance and performance trends.
• Collaborate with Coding Integrity and Compliance to create educational resources.
• Provide education on 3M/360 CAC, EMR, and related technologies.
