Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a seasoned engineer to lead the design, build, integration, and checkout of Hardware-in-the-Loop test environments for spaceflight systems. You will own the hardware/software architecture of the testbed, coordinate with flight software, systems engineering, and mission operations, and drive automation-focused test procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
  • 8+ years in hardware-in-the-loop, system test or vehicle integration.
  • Experience leading complex test campaigns with flight-like hardware.
  • Familiar with real-time simulation platforms and hardware interfaces (serial, MIL-STD-1553, SpaceWire, CAN, Ethernet).

Responsibilities

  • Lead design, build, integration and checkout of HIL test environments.
  • Define testbed requirements across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Own hardware/software architecture of the testbed incl. RT sim, emulators, EGSE.
  • Communicate test bed status, risks, and milestones to leadership.
  • Maintain configuration control of HIL hardware, software and models.
  • Plan and execute test campaigns for program milestones.
  • Define HIL test procedures with a focus on automation.
  • Coordinate with flight software, systems engineering, mission ops for coverage.
  • Track open anomalies and drive closure with subsystem engineers.
  • Manage a team of engineers and technicians to build and operate the testbed.
  • Develop and maintain HIL roadmap aligned with vehicle schedule.
  • Evaluate emerging simulation/emulation tech for the test program.
