Neuralink seeks engineers to own the robot’s Hardware In the Loop test system, exercising production software and firmware on real hardware and automating verification for unattended operation.

You will define pass/fail criteria, integrate software-in-the-loop and hardware tests into a single CI pipeline, reproduce failures, and help deliver scalable, reliable surgical robots at scale. Evidence of exceptional abilities and drive to succeed is valued at all levels.

Qualifications

• Strong Rust skills; Python for test tooling and analysis.
• Experience with HIL, test rigs, or system-level verification.
• Experience debugging async and concurrent systems and timing failures.
• Experience building automated test pipelines; Bazel is a plus.
• Familiarity with using AI agents to accelerate repetitive tasks while maintaining quality.
• Obsessive focus on repeatability, edge cases, and traceability.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain robot HIL — real hardware running production software and firmware.
• Write automated HIL tests for integration, timing, faults, and bring-up.
• Define pass/fail, coverage, and acceptance criteria.
• Wire software-in-the-loop tests, HIL tests, and hardware acceptance into one CI pipeline with logs, traces, and reproducible results.
• Own release-gating tests and reproduce failures to close coverage gaps.
