Job summary

Caterpillar seeks a Lead HIL/SIL Test Engineer to lead software test automation and coordinate with an offshore India team. The role focuses on HIL/SIL testing, test automation, mentoring, requirements coordination, and cross-team communication.

Responsibilities include developing Python-based test automation, defining test boundaries, piloting the HIL framework, mentoring engineers, reviewing test artifacts, and ensuring clear, effective communication across diverse teams while driving issues

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 5-7 years of experience in HIL/SIL testing or embedded control systems testing.
• Strong experience developing test scripts using Python.
• Hands-on experience with Opal-RT and dSPACE for HIL testing.
• Experience with CAN, J1939 and other data-link protocols.
• Understanding of V&V concepts including functional testing, performance testing, regression testing, boundary-condition testing, and positive/negative test cases.
• Ability to read hardware schematics to determine I/O and communication port connections.
• Experience in off-highway heavy machinery, automotive, industrial controls, or similar industries using SIL/HIL for embedded control systems.
