Job summary

Caltrans is hiring a Tree Maintenance Worker in California to perform highway tree maintenance duties under a supervisor, either solo or in crews. The role requires a valid Class C license, with CDL desirable, and may involve travel on a per diem basis up to 80% of the year.

Overtime, night and weekend work are expected due to storms and special projects. Work location is at 5065 Mountain Lakes Blvd, Redding, CA 96003 with various assignments as needed.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Class C driver’s license. Class A or B CDL desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform miscellaneous laboring duties related to highway tree maintenance, alone or with a crew.
• May be loaned to another crew as needed.
• Work overtime, nights and weekends due to storms or emergencies.
• Operate in varied conditions, including extreme heat or cold.
• Wear provided safety gear and adhere to safety requirements.
