Job summary

Caltrans Tree Maintenance Worker position in Shasta County involves performing highway tree maintenance tasks, either solo or in a crew, with potential cross-crew assignments.

A valid California CDL is required; Class A/B and endorsements are desirable. Overtime, night and weekend work may occur due to storms, emergencies, or special projects, with per diem travel up to 80% of the year.

Qualifications

• Possession of a valid California Driver's License (CDL). You must answer the questions addressing your CDL on your application.
• Tanker, air brakes, hazardous materials and passenger endorsements are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform miscellaneous laboring duties related to highway tree maintenance.
• Work individually or with a crew, and may be loaned to another crew.
• This is a designated travel crew and works out of town on per diem up to 80% of the year.
• Required to work overtime, nights and weekends due to storms, emergencies, or special work projects.
