Job summary

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Class A or Class B CDL or obtain one within 90 days.
• Pass and submit to a drug test as a condition of employment.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to perform physical activities such as lifting, dragging, stooping, standing, and walking for long periods.
• Must withstand inclement weather.
• Operate specialty traffic equipment (bucket trucks, painting equipment).

Responsibilities

• Comply with INDOT safety policies and procedures.
• Operate highway maintenance and traffic equipment to maintain, repair, and clean highways and rights‑of‑way.
• Move and load supplies and materials.
• Perform winter operations including snow and ice removal.
• Engage in emergency response activities such as clean‑up, traffic control, lane closures, and erecting signs.
• Perform routine vehicle and equipment maintenance and inspections.
