Job summary

TYLin is seeking a Construction Engineer for our Construction Management team in New Jersey to work on highway and structural projects. You will perform contract documentation, coordinate with inspectors, and provide technical supervision to the Resident Engineer, ensuring progress and compliance on site.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in bridge/highway construction, NICET or Engineer-in-Training credentials, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

NICET certified Transportation Engineering Technician Construction, Level II+ with 2+ years on bridge/highway construction
Engineer-in-Training with 2+ years on bridge/highway construction
Experience on high-speed roadways and MPT familiarity
Experience with NJ DOT, NJ Transit, NYS DOT or similar agency
Strong communication and organizational skills; proficiency in MS Word, Excel, data entry and scheduling programs
ACI, TCC, OSHA 30 Hours or NJ SAT certifications preferred

Responsibilities

Perform contract documentation duties, including field measurements of pay items and daily inspection reports
Coordinate activities with onsite inspectors and inform Resident Engineer of construction progress and problem areas
Provide technical supervision and assistance to Resident Engineer
Observe and document nonconformance situations and change management events
Other responsibilities as assigned
