Job summary

Traffic Planning & Design, Inc. (TPD) is seeking a Civil Engineer to support transportation projects in the Montgomery County, PA area. You will work on intersection design, traffic signal design, roadway signing and pavement marking plans, and analysis under guidance from senior engineers.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, may have EIT/FE, and possess strong communication skills. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, prepare reports and feasibility studies,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (required)
• EIT, FE (not required, but preferred)
• Knowledge of CAD Software (MicroStation or AutoCAD or OpenRoads)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Assisting in outside contact and communication pertaining to specific projects.
• Capital improvement planning including providing cost estimates, feasibility studies, and developing recommendations and innovative solutions
• Work with multi-disciplinary teams on tasks such as intersection design, traffic signal design, roadway signing and pavement marking plans, and traffic and signal operations analysis
• Obtaining, analyzing, PennDOT’s Highway Occupancy Permit Design Criteria/procedure
• Assisting in the preparation or modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, impact studies, permits, and designs for projects.
• Reviewing construction site to monitor progress and other duties per the contract documents
• Serving as on-site project representative.
