Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist in communication regarding specific projects.
• Conduct capital improvement planning and cost estimates.
• Work with teams on intersection and traffic signal designs.
• Analyze and apply PennDOT’s Highway Occupancy Permit criteria.
• Prepare reports, plans, and impact studies.
• Monitor construction site progress.
• Serve as on-site project representative.

Job description

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assisting in outside contact and communication pertaining to specific projects.
• Capital improvement planning including providing cost estimates, feasibility studies, and developing recommendations and innovative solutions.
• Working with multi-disciplinary teams on tasks such as intersection design, traffic signal design, roadway signing and pavement marking plans, and traffic and signal operations analysis.
• Obtaining, analyzing, and applying PennDOT’s Highway Occupancy Permit Design Criteria/procedure.
• Assisting in the preparation or modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, impact studies, permits, and designs for projects.
• Reviewing construction site to monitor progress and other duties per the contract documents.
• Serving as on-site project representative.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (required)
• EIT, FE (not required, but preferred)
• Knowledge of CADD Software (MicroStation, AutoCAD, or OpenRoad)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong work ethic and ability to work on multiple projects and meet multiple deadlines
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Valid Driver’s License
