State of Illinois is seeking a Highway Maintainer for Sangamon County with the IDOT. The role involves fabrication, installation, and maintenance of freeway signs, plus panel replacement and sign shop operations under supervision. The position requires a Class A CDL and a high school diploma, with physical ability for outdoor work in varied conditions.

Work hours are Monday–Friday, 7:00 am–3:30 pm, in-office, at 1135 W Reynolds St, Springfield. This is a union position with full state benefits.

Qualifications

• Requires completion of four years of high school.
• Possession of a Class A CDL with endorsements and no airbrake restrictions.
• One year of driving experience immediately preceding appointment, with no incidents.

Responsabilités

• Rehabilitates, repairs, installs, or removes freeway-type signs at various locations.
• Works in the Sign Shop using machinery to rehabilitate signs.
• Operates CDL Class A vehicles and sign shop equipment.
• Assists Silk Screen Operators with sign fabrication.
• Performs other duties within scope as assigned.
