Basic Job Functions:

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

This position will be managing rebar construction projects in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Hire is expected to live within the area.

What You’ll Do

  1. Responsible for highway, road, and/or bridge construction project management.
  2. Review contract documents/drawings and coordinate detailing efforts to ensure that we supply products and services in the safest and most cost-effective and efficient manner.
  3. Provide total contract management of each project assigned, including coordination of the detailing, scheduling, delivery, and costs of products and services utilizing the company business system, industry standards, and other company resources.
  4. Oversee efforts to ensure that Nucor rebar fabrication fulfills contractual obligations on the assigned project(s).
  5. Coordinate project requirements with the contractor’s representative as well as with the engineer and/or architect using Nucor rebar fabrication’s contract management guidelines.
  6. Schedule the detailing and delivery of required products and services with the contractor and detailing teams.
  7. Review changes to the project to determine their scope, work with the estimating team to ensure the accuracy of same, and then process the appropriate documentation in accordance with the company’s change order procedures.
  8. Assist in the change order process culminating in the acceptance of the change order by the customer.
  9. Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to appropriate staff, workers, and customers.
  10. Represent the company in project meetings as needed.
  11. Work with Detailing Manager to help control the financial aspects of contracts to protect the company’s interest and simultaneously maintain a good relationship with customers.
  12. Formulate reports concerning such areas as work progress, costs, and scheduling.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
  2. Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business field OR three (3) years of experience as a rebar detailer OR demonstrated construction project management experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Ability to apply ACI codes and CRSI standards required.
  2. Experience in customer relations and resolving problems or disputes.
  3. A basic knowledge of contract law, standard business practices, and human relations.
  4. At least 3 years of experience detailing rebar projects.
  5. Strong mathematical skills.
  6. Ability to handle a variety of projects simultaneously and manage time/meet deadlines.
  7. Effective leadership skills; ability to coordinate own and others’ actions.
  8. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills necessary.
  9. Critical thinking skills and the ability to use all applicable tools.

What You Need to Know

  1. Job site visits will be required.
  2. Protective equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, etc. must be worn when on the worksite.
  3. Work schedule may include hours beyond the normal business day.
