Lead the design and development of highway infrastructure projects, applying advanced civil engineering and project management skills. This role plays a critical part in shaping transportation networks, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and community impact. You’ll contribute directly to infrastructure that enhances connectivity and accessibility across regions.
Develop preliminary and final engineering plans for highway construction and improvement projects
Design roadway elements including alignments, grading, drainage systems, and traffic-related features
Provide technical guidance to junior team members and review design work for accuracy and quality
Act as the technical liaison between clients, consultants, and regulatory agencies
Organize and lead project meetings, maintain documentation, and ensure thorough record-keeping
Create innovative design solutions that meet project goals, timelines, and budget constraints
Conduct engineering analysis and research to support material selection and specification development
Evaluate project costs and assess alternative design approaches for efficiency and effectiveness
Prepare and deliver presentations and progress updates to internal and external stakeholders
Manage and maintain detailed project records, including reports, design files, and budget documentation
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s degree preferred)
Professional Engineer (PE) license required
10–15 years of experience in transportation engineering, with a focus on highway design
Proficiency in MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer preferred
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Proven experience managing projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams
Ability to manage multiple priorities with a high level of organization and efficiency
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality deliverables
Collaborative team player with a proactive mindset
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Flexible and adaptable to shifting project needs and deadlines
