Job summary

Dodge County is seeking a Full Time, Non-Exempt Highway Maintenance Technician to perform bridge and culvert inspections, maintenance, and related field duties in Wisconsin. Starting wage range is $28.08/hr - $30.94/hr, with a comprehensive benefits package and a schedule that adapts to seasonal needs.

Responsibilities include inspecting structures, recording condition data, operating trucks and heavy equipment, and performing winter and emergency responses.

Qualifications

• Experience operating construction equipment and related machinery.
• Strong safety awareness and ability to follow procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret grade and alignment stakes.
• Clear written and verbal English communication.
• Capable of maintaining records and reports accurately.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed.
• Must pass pre-employment drug testing and safety trainings.
• Experience with flagging and traffic control is a plus.
• Ability to work as part of a team in field conditions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct annual safety inspections of bridges and culverts and report findings.
• Record inspection data and monitor deterioration levels.
• Perform post-incident inspections to assess damage.
• Create and update bridge and culvert maps and share with team.
• Assist with building and facility maintenance as needed.
• Safely operate heavy construction equipment for road and bridge work.
• Respond to weather events and emergencies as directed.
• Perform highway maintenance tasks including snow removal and repairs.
• Maintain equipment and service records and perform minor repairs.
• Follow safety regulations and report incidents promptly.
