Job summary

CORRE, INC. in Wisconsin seeks a mid-level civil engineering technician to lead or support field operations on active highway projects, including inspection, testing, and documentation.

You will coordinate with WisDOT and contractors, maintain project records, and assist with pay estimates and plan interpretation while upholding safety and quality on site. A strong background in civil construction and familiarity with WisDOT procedures is required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology or related field.
• 6–15+ years of roadway or bridge construction inspection experience.
• Familiarity with WisDOT specifications and documentation procedures (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead projects and/or perform daily construction inspection on WisDOT highway and bridge projects, ensuring contractor compliance with project plans, specifications, and standards.
• Document field activities, track quantities, and prepare daily inspection reports using WisDOT-approved systems (e.g., AASHTOWare Project).
• Conduct or observe field testing of materials (concrete, asphalt, soils, aggregates) in accordance with WisDOT requirements.
• Communicate and coordinate with project engineers, contractors, and WisDOT staff to address issues in the field.
• Perform or support team with project documentation, pay estimates, and plan interpretation.
• Assist with traffic control checks, erosion control monitoring, and safety compliance.
