Georgia Department of Transportation is seeking a TRT050 Transportation Tech 1 (PG-G) - Highway Maintenance Technician 1 to support state highway maintenance and related duties. The role involves operating light vehicles, using tools, and learning traffic control and preventive maintenance tasks. Minimum qual.

include a high school diploma or GED, valid driver's license, and basic knowledge of maintenance equipment. Preferred is a Class B CDL.

Competenze

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Possession of a valid driver's license.
• Basic knowledge of maintenance and/or construction equipment.
• Possession of a Class B Commercial Driver’s License (preferred).
• Ability to successfully perform all job requirements listed above.

Mansioni

• Perform maintenance on state highways and rights‑of‑way or install traffic control devices.
• Use hand and power tools to complete tasks and operate light vehicles/equipment.
• Learn traffic control duties and preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Complete applicable paperwork and respond to emergencies outside normal hours.
• Lifts moderately heavy objects and works in varying weather conditions.
