Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; six months experience at position equivalent.
• 1+ year experience installing/maintaining traffic signals.
• Knowledge of MUTCD procedures for traffic control signal installation/repair.
• Knowledge of electrical codes (NESC/NEC).
• Experience operating/maintaining installation vehicles/equipment.
• Ability to lift heavy equipment and work at heights up to 55 ft.
• Ability to read highway plans, maps, and electrical diagrams/schematics.
• Ability to complete job-related forms and reports.
• Ability to communicate with supervisor, co-workers and local government staff.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair traffic control devices and related equipment.
• Operate and perform preventative maintenance on traffic signal equipment.
• Liaise with utility companies, contractors, and local governments.
• Serve as an on-call technician in regular rotating schedule after hours for signal malfunctions.
