Job summary

State of Vermont in New Haven, VT is hiring a Transportation Operations Technician II to perform highway maintenance tasks such as repairing guardrails, cutting trees/brush, patching roads and litter pickup. In winter, the role includes plowing and salting with overtime possible.

May assist in vehicle and equipment maintenance. This permanent, full-time position offers benefits and CDL renewal reimbursement, with a sign-on/retention bonus up to $2000 for new CDL/non-CDL hires meeting program

Qualifications

• One year of work experience in construction, equipment operation, or related manual labor.
• OR successful completion of original probation as Transportation Operations Technician I AND possession of a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with tanker endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Repair guardrails, cut trees/brush, patch roads and pick up litter.
• Assist with plowing and salting in winter; overtime may be required.
• Assist in vehicle and equipment maintenance when needed.
