Job summary

The State of Vermont’s Transportation Agency is hiring a Transportation Operations Technician II in Thetford, VT. This permanent, full-time role involves highway maintenance tasks such as repairing guardrails, cutting brush, patching roads, and litter pickup. In winter, the job may require plowing and salting along with overtime.

CDL-related duties and vehicle maintenance support are included. New hires may receive a sign-on bonus up to $2000.

Qualifications

• One year of work experience in construction, equipment operation, or related manual labor.
• OR successful completion of probation as Transportation Operations Technician I and possession of a CDL Class A with tanker endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Repair guardrails, clear trees/brush, patch roads, and pick up litter.
• Ditching and roadway maintenance tasks; assist with winter plowing/salting and overtime as needed.
• Assistance with vehicle and equipment maintenance as required.
