Job summary

The State of Vermont, Agency of Transportation, seeks a Transportation Operations Technician II in Middlesex, VT. This permanent, full-time role focuses on highway maintenance, including guardrail repairs, tree/brush removal, patching roads, litter pickup, and seasonal plowing.

Overtime may be required during winter emergencies, and CDL with tanker endorsement is required within six months. New hires may receive a sign-on bonus up to $2,000 and CDL renewals reimbursement.

Qualifications

• One year of work experience in construction, equipment operation, or related manual labor, including snowplow experience or heavy equipment operation.
• Possession of a Class A CDL with tanker endorsement within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform highway maintenance tasks such as repairing guardrails, cutting trees/brush, patching roads, and litter pickup.
• Assist with plowing and salting during winter months; respond to emergencies with overtime as needed.
• Contribute to vehicle and equipment maintenance and safety inspections.
