Job summary

The State of Vermont is seeking a Transportation Operations Technician II to perform highway maintenance tasks including repairing guardrails, mowing and trimming, road patching, litter pickup, ditching, and related duties. In winter, duties include plowing and salting with overtime potential. CDL required; Class A Tanker endorsement needed within six months.

CDL renewal reimbursement offered. New hires are typically started at the salary minimum, with a sign-on bonus up to $2000.

Qualifications

• High school diploma (or equivalent) required.
• One year of manual labor/ construction or related work preferred; snowplow experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Repair guardrails, cut trees/brush, patch roads, pick litter, and ditch.
