Job summary

State of Colorado, Department of Transportation (CDOT) seeks a Highway Maintenance Specialist in Brush, CO to perform snow plowing, heavy equipment operation, and road maintenance. A Class A/B CDL with no air-brakes restriction is required, with at least two years of physical labor or equipment experience.

On-call and overtime may be required; safety gear provided. The role supports public safety, road opening, and weather-response efforts with a 4-day summer schedule and competitive benefits

Qualifications

• At least two years of physical labor or heavy equipment operation experience.
• Must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License Class A or B with no air-brakes restriction.
• Ability to respond to emergencies and work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Plowing snow and maintaining roadways.
• Operating heavy equipment such as tandem dump truck and loader.
• Mowing grass, removing debris, and repairing culverts/guardrails.
• Installing signs/markings, setting up traffic control, and responding to emergencies.
• Maintaining equipment and performing minor repairs; following safety protocols.
