Job summary

Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) is seeking a Highway Maintenance Specialist for Parkdale, OR. You will operate heavy and light equipment to maintain roadways, bridges, and structures, and assist with weather-related emergencies and traffic control.

The role supports Parkdale/ Hood River area within the Delivery & Operations Division. Requirements include one year of highway maintenance experience or two years of related work and a valid CDL-A with tanker endorsement.

Qualifications

• One year of experience performing basic highway maintenance work.
• Two years of general landscaping, maintenance, mechanical, farming, logging, and/or construction experience or training.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of heavy and light equipment to maintain and repair roadways.
• Assist with weather-related emergencies and operates snowplows, deicer trucks and other equipment.
• Perform minor surface repairs including pothole and concrete patching and small inlay work.
• Maintain drainage systems and roadside vegetation, fences and guardrails.
