Role Overview:
The Highway Technician 3 position is for the traffic markings department in LaPorte Districtwide. Responsibilities include general highway maintenance, striping state roads, working with thermal plastic, and some bucket work. On-the-job training is provided. Some overnight work may be required, along with mandatory overtime for emergency operations, including winter.
This position typically starts at an hourly rate of $20.00. Salary may be adjusted based on education and experience.
CDL Positions:
Candidates with a current CDL and endorsements required by the district will earn an additional $1 per hour. Candidates without a CDL will have 90 days to obtain their CDL and endorsements and will then earn an additional $1 per hour. CDL training is provided onsite by certified INDOT staff.
