Job summary

The State of South Carolina is seeking a skilled equipment operator to perform crane, crawler, and boom truck work on roads and bridges within the state highway system. You will input data and run reports in the maintenance data management system and assist with QA/QC checks to ensure report accuracy.

Qualifications

• Two and a half years of related work experience or equivalent.
• Valid motor vehicle operator’s license required.
• Must obtain Class A CDL within six months of placement.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work extended hours.

Responsibilities

• Operate crane, crawler, and boom truck on roads and bridges projects.
• Input data and run reports in the maintenance data management system.
• Maintain safety and environmental equipment and MSDS sheets.
• Coordinate traffic control devices for work zones.
• Assist with training and crew supervision during emergencies or inclement weather.
• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports and cost records.
