Qualifications

• No formal education required.
• Crew Chief: Four (4) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in roadway construction or roadway maintenance, or in bridge or structural steel construction comparable to the work performed by the Division of Highways.
• Substitutions available through approved vocational training.

Responsibilities

• Leads a crew in the maintenance and repair of highways.
• Investigates citizen complaints to determine repairs and materials needed.
• Assigns daily projects and oversees completion of work.
• Completes time, materials, and inspection reports.
• Coordinates equipment and material needs.
• Travels as required; valid driver’s license required.
