Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and speak English sufficiently to converse with the general public and understand highway signs.
• Experience operating a truck, tractor or heavy equipment preferred.
• Ability to learn and safely operate hand tools and small power equipment.
• Willingness to work in all weather and physical environments.

Responsibilities

• Maintain grass and weeds using tractors and mowers.
• Perform landscape maintenance and tree cutting along highway rights-of-way.
• Operate dump truck for construction materials.
• Use power tools and small hand tools for repairs.
• Load, unload and stack bags of salt, sand, cement and chemicals.
• Flag traffic and assist with signs and cones in work zones.
