Job summary

Arkansas Department of Transportation is seeking a Maintenance Aide I to operate a single-axle truck and mowing equipment, perform highway maintenance, load materials, and assist with work zones. You will work under general supervision and may respond to emergencies as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and speak English sufficiently.
• Experience operating a truck, tractor or heavy equipment preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required and CDL process described.

Responsibilities

• Operate single-axle dump truck and mowing equipment.
• Perform landscape maintenance and tree cutting along highways.
• Use power tools and hand tools for repairs.
• Load/unload materials and remove litter from roadsides.
• Flag traffic and assist with work zones.
