Job summary

Arkansas Department of Transportation, District 9, Sealing Crew, Harrison, AR, seeks a mechanically skilled worker to operate a single-axle truck or tractor with mowing apparatus and perform road maintenance.

The position requires a valid driver’s license; CDL tests within the first 90/180 days; pre-employment drug testing; ability to work in all weather; and being on call for emergencies and snow removal as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and speak English to communicate with the public and understand signs.
• Experience operating trucks, tractors or heavy equipment preferred.
• Must pass pre-employment drug/alcohol test.
• Must meet CDL requirements within specified timelines.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in all weather.

Responsibilities

• Operate a single-axle dump truck and tractor with mowing equipment.
• Perform highway maintenance and landscape tasks.
• Load/unload materials and assist with sign setups in work zones.
• Respond to emergencies and snow/ice removal operations as needed.
• Maintain equipment and perform routine servicing.
