Job summary

Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP in Tampa, FL is seeking an experienced Transportation - Highway Engineer to design roadway projects and manage plans for FDOT and local agencies.

Responsibilities include developing roadway designs, preparing specifications and cost estimates, coordinating utilities, and mentoring junior staff while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Travel to project sites and other offices may be required.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of highway/roadway design experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer license in Florida or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Develop roadway designs and construction plans for FDOT and local agency projects.
• Design horizontal and vertical alignments, roadside features, and MOT plans.
• Coordinate utilities, prepare specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports.
• Support design-build and alternative delivery projects, including P3 initiatives.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and mentoring junior staff.
