Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Highway Engineer to design and manage highway projects. This role involves leading design efforts, coordinating with clients, and mentoring junior engineers on diverse roadway and multimodal projects.

Candidates should have a BS in Civil Engineering, a Maryland PE, 11–15 years of highway experience, and proficiency with MicroStation, InRoads, OpenRoads, and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering required.
• PE license in Maryland required (or eligible).
• 11–15 years of highway engineering experience.
• Experience with MicroStation, InRoads, OpenRoads and AutoCAD preferred.
• Experience designing and managing highway projects and preparing contract documents.

Responsibilities

• Lead highway and transportation project design and development.
• Develop roadway alignments, geometrics, multimodal projects, and roadside safety.
• Prepare and review construction plans, specs, estimates, and reports.
• Ensure compliance with AASHTO, FHWA, and state DOT standards.
• Mentor junior engineers with technical guidance.
• Act as primary client and stakeholder contact.
• Support business development through proposals and presentations.

Job Details

We're seeking an experienced Highway Engineer to design and manage different highway projects. This role involves design, working on diverse projects, provide mentorship with junior engineers and client coordination for complex roadway and multimodal transportation projects.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of highway and transportation projects, including:
• Roadway alignments, geometric design, multimodal projects and roadside safety
• Prepare and review construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports
• Ensure compliance with AASHTO, FHWA, and state DOT standards
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers
• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders
• Support business development through proposal preparation and client presentations

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
• PE license in Maryland
• 11–15 years of highway engineering experience
• Experience with MicroStation, InRoads, OpenRoads, and AutoCAD preferred
• Experience designing and managing highway tasks and projects and preparing contract documents
