The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Department of Transportation seeks a Highway Design Supervisor to lead major highway projects from concept through completion. You will guide project teams, manage schedules and budgets, and ensure safety and quality in design work across districts.

In this leadership role, you will coordinate with municipalities, agencies, and the public, oversee consultant selection and design reviews, and provide direction to staff to deliver transportation improvements for

Qualifications

• One year as a Highway Designer (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Five years highway design experience with six months of CAD operation and an Associate's Degree in civil engineering, drafting, or design technology; or
• Two years highway design experience with six months CAD operation and a Bachelor's Degree in civil engineering or a related field; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsabilités

• Project Oversight: manage project schedules, budgets, design tasks and required reviews to support on-time delivery
• Consultant Coordination: lead consultant selection processes, review technical proposals, and approve agreements and invoices
• Design Review: ensure engineering plans, reports, permits, and documents follow safety standards and PennDOT policies
• Team Leadership: assign work, coach staff, evaluate performance, and guide employee development
• Stakeholder Coordination: work with municipalities, agencies, and the public to share information and resolve project-related concerns
• Construction Support: assist Construction Unit staff and participate in after-action reviews for completed projects

Associate's Degree in civil engineering, drafting, or design technology
