Job summary

Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP is seeking a civil engineering student for a highway engineering internship in our Baltimore, MD office. The Highway Design group handles design for transportation facilities including highways, pedestrian and bicycle facilities, and transit improvements.

Applicants must be pursuing a B.S. in Civil Engineering, possess strong communication skills, and be able to work both independently and in a team. Proficiency with MicroStation/OpenRoads/AutoCAD preferred.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from an accredited institution.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to handle multiple assignments.
• Experience with design software tools such as MicroStation, OpenRoads and AutoCAD preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Support the Highway Design group in the development of transportation facilities, including highways, pedestrians, bicycles and transit improvements.
• Assist engineers with design tasks and data gathering under supervision.
• Contribute to project documentation and internal reviews.
