Short-Elliott-Hendrickson, Incorporated (SEH) seeks a Highway Design Engineer to join our Transportation team in Wisconsin. You will lead highway design projects for WisDOT, mentor junior engineers, and own internal project decisions, contributing to SEH’s growth and community impact.

You will work within an employee-owned culture that values collaboration, continuous learning, and client relationships, supporting design excellence and career development across Southeast Wisconsin.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field is required.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in Wisconsin or ability to obtain within six months.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel as needed for site visits, meetings and business development.
• Design experience on WisDOT projects and highway design software such as AutoCAD/Civil 3D.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and direct multiple highway design projects for clients.
• Maintain relationships with clients during and after project delivery.
• Mentor staff and foster a positive team environment.
• Ensure QA/QC procedures are followed and design standards met.
• Represent SEH with agencies at project and public meetings.
