This series aims to provide and maintain a safe and efficient transportation system, serving the public courteously and promptly. Positions will be assigned based on experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities vary by level, including operation of motorized vehicles and equipment, pavement and landscape care, roadside repairs, signing and striping, delivery of equipment and materials, environmental compliance, and vehicle/equipment maintenance. Higher levels include supervisory duties such as scheduling, inspecting, and training staff.
Candidates should have relevant roadway/highway experience, with specific requirements per position level, including:
Employees must obtain an Arizona CDL (Class A) permit within 90 days and a full license within 6 months. A tanker endorsement is required before starting. Registration with FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse is mandatory. The role involves emergency response, physical lifting, and driving responsibilities.
