Job summary

State of Michigan’s MDOT is seeking a Transportation Technician to participate in and oversee field construction and quality control inspections for highways, bridges, and related facilities. You will review project records for compliance with standards and provide technical support, including materials testing and inspections.

Qualifications

• Possess an Associate's degree in concrete technology, civil technology, construction technology, surveying technology, construction management, mathematics, or computer science.
• Possess a valid driver's license.
• Experience in quality control inspections, drafting, materials testing, surveying, or traffic may be substituted for the degree or used to qualify for higher levels.

Responsibilities

• Participate in and oversee construction and quality control inspection activities to ensure highways, bridges, and related facilities are built to plans and specifications.
• Review and document project records for adherence to standards.
• Provide engineering technical support, including materials testing, inspection, and compliance.
