Job summary

Mtc Test is seeking a Senior Field Technician to perform QA testing of construction materials at project sites in the Grand Rapids area. You will document results accurately and communicate findings to client field representatives, with guidance from the Project Manager to support deficiency resolution.

Responsibilities include performing soil, concrete, asphalt and masonry testing, maintaining equipment, and ensuring procedures meet specifications. Travel and outdoor work are expected.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; science-focused degree helpful.
• 2+ years of field experience.
• Valid driver's license; good driving record; pass drug screen and background check.
• ACI Level I, MCA Level I, and MDOT Density certifications required.

Senior Field Technicians travel to construction project sites to perform Quality Assurance testing of construction materials. Upon accurate completion of the tests, the results are documented and communicated to client field representatives. Reports are then submitted for review and processing. With guidance from the Project Manager, the Field Technician will assist with deficiency resolution.

Responsibilities:

• Perform soil, concrete, asphalt and masonry testing.
• Complete daily report of observation and accurately record test results.
• Monitor work procedures for compliance with project specifications.
• Professional communication with client representatives (supervisor, foremen, project managers, engineers, etc.) at project sites.
• Recording and communication to the project supervisor and client any deviations from the specifications.
• Proper maintenance of equipment.
• Perform other duties or functions as assigned or requested.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• High School degree required; Associates or Bachelor degree with a science focus helpful.
• 2+ Years of field experience
• Current ACI, MCA Level I, MDOT Density certifications.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record. Must pass drug screen, physical (regular lifting up to 50 lbs) and background check.
• Ability to coordinate individual aspects of projects. Effective communication skills.
• High ethical standards and attention to detail.
• Work environment primarily at construction sites with the possibility of challenging terrain and outdoor weather conditions.
