Job summary

True North Consultants, Inc. in Savannah, GA is seeking a Project Engineer for a major interstate widening project in the Savannah area.

This role focuses on highway and bridge work, with responsibility for submittals, RFIs, takeoffs, cost tracking, and field coordination, offering a clear path to senior roles. You will work with DOT inspectors and design engineers, manage schedules in Primavera P6, and spend substantial time in the field on bridge and roadwork.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of project or field engineering on heavy civil highway, bridge or DOT projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• Hands-on with submittals, RFIs, quantities and cost tracking.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; Primavera P6 is a plus.
• Bridge experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Run submittals and RFIs for your scope.
• Build quantity takeoffs, project logs and pay application backup.
• Track cost against budget and help with monthly cost reports.
• Help update the project schedule in Primavera P6.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and material deliveries.
• Work with DOT inspectors and design engineers on field issues.
• Read and interpret plans, specs, traffic control and environmental requirements.
• Spend real time in the field on bridge and roadway work.
• Support the Senior Project Engineer, Project Manager and Superintendent.
