Job summary

6 Degrees Search is hiring a Project Engineer for a major interstate widening project in the Savannah, GA area. You will manage submittals, RFIs, quantities and cost tracking, and help update the project schedule in Primavera P6 while coordinating field teams and DOT inspectors.

This heavy civil role offers a long runway on a landmark project with a clear path from Project Engineer to Senior Project Engineer, plus a full benefits package and company vehicle on a multiyear assignment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of project or field engineering on heavy civil highway, bridge or DOT projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
• Hands on with submittals, RFIs, quantities and cost tracking.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; Primavera P6 is a plus.
• Bridge experience is a plus.
• SCDOT, GDOT or other state DOT experience is a plus.
• EIT is a plus.
• Based in the Savannah area or ready to relocate for a multiyear project.

Responsibilities

• Run submittals and RFIs for your scope
• Build quantity takeoffs, project logs and pay application backup
• Track cost against budget and help with monthly cost reports
• Help update the project schedule in Primavera P6
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and material deliveries
• Work with DOT inspectors and design engineers on field issues
• Read and interpret plans, specs, traffic control and environmental requirements
• Spend real time in the field on bridge and roadway work
• Support the Senior Project Engineer, Project Manager and Superintendent
