Job summary

The Recruiting Hive is seeking a Project Engineer for a major multimillion-dollar interstate widening project in and around Savannah, GA. You will manage submittals, RFIs, quantities and cost tracking while working closely with field teams on bridge and roadway components.

The role offers a path from Project Engineer to Senior Project Engineer, with a strong backlog of highway/bridge work and opportunities for relocation within the Southeast.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of project or field engineering on heavy civil highway, bridge or DOT projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• Hands on with submittals, RFIs, quantities and cost tracking.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; Primavera P6 is a plus.
• Bridge experience is a plus.
• SCDOT, GDOT or other state DOT experience is a plus.
• EIT is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Run submittals and RFIs for your scope.
• Build quantity takeoffs, project logs and pay application backup.
• Track cost against budget and help with monthly cost reports.
• Help update the project schedule in Primavera P6.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and material deliveries.
• Work with DOT inspectors and design engineers on field issues.
• Read and interpret plans, specs, traffic control and environmental requirements.
• Spend real time in the field on bridge and roadway work.
• Support the Senior Project Engineer, Project Manager and Superintendent.
